Dear both
Excellent work, there should be a wide discourse in the south regarding Jaffna and its civilians not limiting it to journalists only, at present Jaffna has become a no man’s land in every sense. The so called international community and the INGO community has curtailed operations in the peninsular which is quite surprising since the area is controlled by the Sri Lankan government. Is Jaffna unsafe then Iraq ?
What is happing to the people in the area they are no relief or assistance given to the needy by the government or by any other actor operating in the area. 1 kg of rice in Jaffna is SLR 150, how can there be a such a difference in a country? the question I’m faced is why isn’t any one raising their voice about the suffering in the North and East, is it because people in the south do have more problems or is it simply because NO ONE REALLY CARES ABOUT THE PEOPLE IN JAFFNA.
