Drug Uses
Verapamil is used for treatment of supraventricular tachycardia, a rhythm disturbance of the heart. It is also used for controlling heart rate response to other rhythm disturbances, specifically atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter. It can also be used for other situations as determined by your physician.

Use Verapamil as directed by your doctor.

Verapamil may cause dizziness. These effects may worsen if Verapamil is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Take Verapamil with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this pill. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, talk to your doctor. This drug should be used only by the patient for whom it has been recommended. Don't take less or more or take it more often than recommended by your doctor.
