Drug Uses
Cipro is used for curing of bacterial infections. It may also be used to prevent or slow anthrax after exposure.
How Taken
Use Cipro with a full glass of water as determined by your doctor. Take Cipro with or without a meal. It is suggested to drink extra fluids while taking Cipro. If you also take any products containing magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, or zinc (eg, vitamins/minerals, antacids), didanosine, sucralfate, or bismuth subsalicylate, don't take them within six hours before or 2 hours after taking Cipro. To clear up your infection completely, take Cipro for the full course of treatment. Keep taking it even if you feel better in a few days.
Additional Information
Cipro can cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness. These effects may worsen if Cipro is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Take Cipro with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this drug. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, visit your doctor. Cipro should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Do not take less or more or take it more often than directed by your doctor.
