Drug Uses
Neurontin is used for curing of seizures associated with epilepsy. It can also be used for handling nerve pain associated with herpes zoster (shingles) infection (postherpetic neuralgia). Neurontin can also be used for other situation as advised by your doctor.
How Taken
Use Neurontin as directed by your physician. Take Neurontin with or without a meal. Do not take an antacid containing aluminum or magnesium within 2 hours before you take Neurontin. Do not suddenly stop taking Neurontin. You can have an increased risk of side effects (eg, seizures). If you need to stop taking Neurontin or add a new drug, your physician will gradually lower your dosage.
Additional Information
Neurontin can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects may worsen if Neurontin is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Neurontin with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you react to this drug. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, call your doctor. This pill should be used only by the patient for whom it has been determined. Do not take less or more or take it more often than advised by your physician.
