Drug Uses
Methotrexate is used for curing of ertain types of cancer, severe psoriasis, or rheumatoid arthritis in certain patients. It can be used alone or with other drugs. It can also be used for other conditions as prescribed by your doctor.
How Taken
Use Methotrexate as prescribed by your physician. Use Methotrexate with or without a meal. However, you should take it the same way each time in relation to food. It is recommended to drink extra fluids while taking Methotrexate. It may take several weeks for your symptoms to improve. Do not stop taking Methotrexate without calling to with your physician. Methotrexate works best if each dose is taken at the scheduled time.
Additional Information
Methotrexate may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects can worsen if Methotrexate is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Methotrexate with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly negative tasks until you know how you respond to this medicine. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, consult your physician. This medicine should be used only by the patient for whom it has been directed. Don't use
less or more or take it more often than advised by your physician.
